History of this marvellous city
Even if you are not a history lover, the architectural beauty of this place will make you think of its past. The pink walls of this city have some really cool and interesting tales to tell. It was the old fort palace of Amber in the Aravalli Hills where a clan of Rajputs arrived and established their kingdom. To overcome the problems of growing population and water scarcity, Raja Jai Singh II shifted his capital from Amber to a new city. The architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya planned the city of Jaipur by using principles of Vastu Shastra. And hence it became the first planned city of India. This beautifully planned city was constructed within a period of four years.
